Day in day out major challenges for the organizers, race committee and the fleet. Only one race today for the gold fleets, everybody else did not race, even that one race for the gold fleets was shortened. Again some 4-5 hours on the water, with high air temperatures, 32 degrees in the shadow, on shore in the sun one feels as if it is 40. All the competitors agree – it is very tricky out there. Results show that, even the top names made mistakes. Tonci Stipanovic (CRO) made no mistakes. He lead the race from the beginning to the end, scored a bullet for his 28th birthday. Rutger van
Schaardenburg (NED) made a big job, coming from the 30th place to finish as 6th. After six races Stipanovic has a six points advantage over Schaardenburg, and Nick Thompson (GBR) in third place. In Radial fleet no changes at top spot, still firm young Svenja Weger (GER), who also scored a bullet today. Tina Mihelic (CRO) moved into second place with a second today, Chloe Martin (GBR) is third. Tomorrow three races are scheduled, but the forecast is again very bad, again no wind. The race committee will be ready to signal a start at 12.00. Only one race is enough to change a lot, beacuse with two races in the finals the sailors can discard one of final races, for example Marit Bouwmeester (NED) is now discarding a 3rd place from the qualifiers and not the 20th from today, or Robert Scheidt (BRA), who is discarding a 5th instead of an 18th. One more day to go..only one..and it will be again challenging and exciting.
