Information to Competitors about Measurement Inspection

It is mandatory that ALL sailors go through measurement/ inspection and that all equipment that you will use are being inspected. At the end of it, you will certify on the measurement/ inspection form that you will not change anything without the permission of the regatta measurer.

To change equipment, you will need to fill a “Request for Change of Equipment” form, bring the damaged equipment and obtain the written approval from the Regatta Measurer. Failure to do so will result in a protest being lodged that can end in a DSQ or DNE.

How the inspection works:

  1. Measurement will take place in the sailing club Split boat hangar at the boat park
  2. All sailors are requested to book a time on the measurement booking form that will be available at the notice board from Friday 6th June 2014.
  3. Please join the queue with you boat in front of sailing club Split boat hangar at least 5 minutes before your booked time slot.
  4. While in line, do not try to jump queue. Do respect the other sailors and the measurement team. Unruly and disorderly behaviours will not be accepted. Please bear in mind that the people involved in the measurement are all volunteers and will try their best to make the championship a success and that you enjoy the event.
  1. Your equipment must be clean and dry. Remove all items that are not required for measurement – e.g. extra mast sections, extra sails, sail and foil bags, your clothings and water bottles etc. All these unnecessary items lead to mistakes (e.g. measure wrong sail) and cause delays. Remove the tiller from the rudder.
  2. You will be asked to fill the measurement form with your name, gender, hull and sail number.
You will receive a number which will be on all your equipment.

You will have to rig your equipment with only the lower section up with all the control lines.

You will pass through the inspection stations

All equipment will be stamped, numbered and signed.

  1. When you have completed the measurement / inspection, your form will be signed by the regatta measurer and you will be able to register for the regatta.
  2. All sailors please take note of the following “Advice on Country Letters” that has been published on the ILCA website:

http://www.laserinternational.org/sites/default/files/Country_Code_Advice_022013.pdf

Thank you for your cooperation and we hope to make the measurement / inspection process a smooth and successful one!
